Compared to most utilities – electricity, gas, internet and cable, the cost of water is extremely reasonable. This latest survey from worldpopulationreview.com shows water costs across the country.

On average, Floridians pay the lowest water utility bill at around $6 a month. The opposite of Florida is West Virginia, where residents can pay as much as $72 a month. Although water utility bills shift so drastically throughout the nation, there is a bit of consistency that can be found in the Midwest, where these states almost all fall into the lower half of the list – leaning toward some of the lower costs.

  • Minnesota comes in at 20th on the list with a monthly water bill of $27 per month.
  • Iowa follows suit at 21st, where residents, on average, pay $28 a month for water their utility.
  • Missouri ranks 4th of the states we serve in terms of water bills per month at $38 – still at half of what West Virginians pay.
