Get Connected With NASA on Earth Day – April 22, 2021

Just like social media connects us with others all over the world, so does our planet. To celebrate Earth Day this year, NASA is asking people around the world to share photos that showcase the beauty of our world. Is the sunset especially beautiful where you live? Is there a particular hiking trail that gives you a stunning view when you finally reach the top? Or do you have a garden that provides you with fresh veggies? Whatever it is, share it using #ConnectedByEarth and with us at #PeopleServiceForTheEarth. You can even share your general location so we can see different parts of our world we wouldn’t normally see. On Earth Day, NASA will mesh all the photos together to create one stunning image of what our planet shares with us. Happy Earth Day!

And Finally… Seattle’s Tunnel Vision!

Seattle’s newest massive tunnel boring machine has been dubbed MudHoney, after the grunge rock pioneers who began performing in Seattle clubs more than three decades ago.

Explaining MudHoney’s inclusion, Seattle Public Utilities wrote, “The machine loves mud and is pretty sweet.” But there’s also a whiff of double entendre – the tunnel will ultimately store sewage and polluted stormwater.

Mark Arm, the band’s longtime frontman, called the namesake tunnel boring machine a “pretty crazy and weird honor.”
