PeopleService University

Dedicated to continuous learning in the water and wastewater industry.

It doesn’t take long in this industry to figure out that it’s more complicated than people think, and to be a successful operator, you need to know a lot about a lot of things – like chemistry, math, IT/computers, plumbing systems, biology and mechanics. And, on top of the working knowledge of these things, states require that operators be certified in this knowledge as well.

This is where PeopleService University comes in. All eligible employees participate in Spring and Fall classes that help deepen the knowledge qualified operators need to have.

In fact, when someone has been with us for six months, he can enter the Level 1 exam course. With successful completion, this education can replace part of the experience requirement for that certification.

PeopleService covers all costs of taking time off the job, travel to and from the training, lodging, books and the trainer. Our employee/students pass Level 1 and 2 exams at a significantly higher rate than those who have to study for, get to and take the exam with far less preparation and support.

And, unlike some communities and water/wastewater operations companies, we don’t give up on our employees if they have trouble passing a certification exam. We continue to work with them, pay for the classes and support them every step of the way.

This assures that the people who manage, operate and maintain your water/wastewater system are skilled and trained in how to assure the safest, cleanest product for your community.

"I took the PeopleService University class to prepare for a Missouri Class B Wastewater certification test. The class was a good way to brush up on material needed for exams, as well as learning new tips and techniques from other PeopleService operators throughout the company. I recommend the class to anyone wanting to prepare for a certification exam – especially new and entry-level operators and those wanting to brush up on course material and share ideas with other operators."

“This can be intense information to absorb, but when a student ‘gets it,’ it’s like a light bulb goes off and that’s complete satisfaction for a teacher.”
